To share the information with you, in a recently concluded CBSE Cluster II Volleyball Champion 2023-24, our volleyball team travelled to Odisha to participate in a cluster tournament where 36 teams from West Bengal, Odisha, and Chattisgarh locked horns to get the better of each other. In a 3 day long back-to-back tournament, the boys with a stellar performance defeated BSF Kadamtala in the Semi-final and Delhi Public School, in the Final to be crowned as CBSE Cluster II Volleyball Champion.
What makes this achievement incredible is, that the boys in their first attempt got their hands on a coveted trophy and now will head to Uttar Pradesh to play the National Volleyball tournament where new challenges are awaiting.
The accomplishment has dawned a new era in the history of sports and academics inspiring budding sports stars of the school to follow in the footsteps of the achievers who against all odds conquered the CBSE Cluster II Volleyball Tournament 2023-24. In a broader context, the win has put North Bengal in a position where a victory in the national will bring laurels to the entire state of West Bengal.
If we talk about the build-up process then the team in recent events was consistently performing well in the inter-school tournaments. The hard work and efforts were quite visible on the surface. The coach along with the entire team had the confidence to play the cluster and understood the gravity of the competition. After the submission of the form, they travelled to Odisha and played their first match on the 31st of October and went on to play numerous group-level and knockout stage games in the heat of Odisha. In the semi-final, the team delivered a knockout blow to BSF Kadamtala, Siliguri, and the final was played against Delhi Public School, Siliguri. In a clash of titans, we crawled from behind and punched above our weight to win the tournament.
Now, as we head to Uttar Pradesh to play for Nationals, the school is completely behind the team and believes the talent we have developed over the last few years has that confidence and competitive spirit to win the game from any point.
